In some respects, arriving on the scene is like being an overnight success. However, this journey has taken a few decades to culminate in TSRB Systems LLC. I get it that there is a plethora of eager junior developers waiting with hands on keyboards to pound out the next greatest solution to mankind; however, when you have been around the mountain a few (dozen) times, you realize that not everything that looks like gold is, in fact, valuable. The age-old process is what works; what is the need or want, and what will it cost to get there, and finally, will it generate a financial benefit? If you are a dreamer and have an idea, the first thing you need is an arms'-length sounding board. Not your wife, or your husband, or your BFF or your poker buddy, but someone with experience and history in the market that will tell you the unvarnished truth. Yet, that person must be able to provide expert advice and reasonable expectations. The worst thing that can happen is you end up with a cheering section and investment for an idea that has not been critically vetted and within the year the money runs out and delivery never happens or, worse, the product or service never gets off the ground of public adoption.
